Grote Industries Demonstrating 4SEE® Smart Trailer System During Ride and Drive at TMC’s 2024 Annual Meeting
MADISON, Ind. (Feb. 29, 2024) - Grote Industries is set to showcase its new 4SEE Smart Trailer System at the Transportation Maintenance Council's (TMC) 2024 Annual Meeting. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to experience this innovative technology firsthand during a three-day Ride and Drive session from March 4 - 7, 2024, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"We have been receiving excellent feedback from customers using the 4SEE Smart Trailer System to improve safety and efficiency, with positive ROI within their operations," said Dominic Grote, CEO and president of Grote Industries. "This is why we felt it was important to bring this experience to TMC so that more potential partners could see the benefits of this technology."
A pivotal addition to the 4SEE Smart Trailer System is the introduction of the industry's first wired rear-view camera, enabled by a strategic collaboration with Stoneridge, Inc. Visitors to Grote Industries' booth (#1259) will have the chance to witness this game-changing innovation up close. For those eager to delve deeper, a Ride and Drive experience will allow them to fully immerse themselves in the capabilities of this groundbreaking system, emblematic of Grote Industries' unwavering commitment to safety.
“This product, which debuted at TMC in 2023, represents a paradigm shift in trailer safety technology as the industry’s first wired rear-view trailer camera,” said Dominic Grote. “With seamless integration through the standard J560 7-way connector, drivers can now access realtime video to a display in the cab directly from the back of the trailer with virtually no latency, fostering a reliable and instantaneous view that enhances overall safety.”
By leveraging Stoneridge's (NYSE: SRI) comprehensive suite of vision systems, including its MirrorEye® Camera Monitor System, the new 4SEE rear-view trailer camera provides drivers with an additional view of the back of the trailer. 4SEE's rear vision system rounds out the most holistic smart trailer solution on the market, with features ranging from light-out sensors to proximity-sensing radars and cargo sensors. All hardware components are interconnected through Grote's robust 4SEE Digital Harness, ensuring unwavering reliability and connectivity that fleets can rely on.
"The significance of rear-view cameras in mitigating backing crashes, which account for 80% of carrier's total crashes and 30% of their total risk costs, cannot be overstated," said Jim Zizelman, president and CEO of Stoneridge. "We're proud to bring the next generation of commercial vehicle safety solutions to the market with industry-leading partners like Grote."
Dominic Grote further commented, "Additionally, the enhanced productivity driven by these cameras translates into higher billed miles per day and increased revenue for fleets while simultaneously reducing stress for drivers and fostering improved driver retention. Aside from bolstering overall safety, the time saved through the utilization of these cameras translates into tangible benefits for fleets and drivers alike, representing a pivotal win-win for our industry."
